ABOUT ME
My name is Matthew Pokorny, and I'm a graphic designer with a strong interest in advertising, visual storytelling, typography and learning how design that actually connects with people!
For the last four years, I've had the opportunity to work on ad creation, social media content, and print and digital design through many internships and campus roles. Through these opportunities, I've collaborated with marketing and editorial teams and can confidently bring ideas from concept to execution. I’m currently finishing my degree at the University of Miami, graduating in 2026, and looking ahead to a career centered in graphic design and advertising!
Originally from Wisconsin, I came to Miami wanting to be immersed in a bigger creative environment. Studying abroad in France was a major highlight of my time in college, and it allowed me to travel through eleven different countries, shaping how I think about culture, design, and communication. Of course I still value my Midwestern roots... but I’m adaptable, curious, and always looking for new ways to grow creatively (and any extra ways I can use my creative skills to help out!)
Outside of design, I’ve always been drawn to computer science and understanding how technology works behind the scenes. I’m especially interested in retro and vintage culture, and I enjoy blending that interest with tech by creating my own video games and sharing them with others.
